Minister Jaleel disapproves of Menaka Gandhi’s statement

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Local Administration Minister Jaleel has criticised Union Women and Child Welfare Minister Menaka Gandhi’s statement that KAAPA (Kerala Antisocial Activities (Prevention) Act should be invoked against people illegally killing street dogs. There is no circumstances that warrant invocation of KAAPA.

"Ms Menaka Gandhi can say anything from New Delhi. She has to come to Kerala if she has to understand the reality," the minister said at a press conference today.

“I don’t think even the BJP, which is ruling the Centre, will make such a comment. In Kerala the government is not going about with mass culling of dogs, as alleged by Ms Gandhi,” he added.
