Vigilance case against me is conspiracy, Shankar Reddy writes to director

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former Vigilance Director Shankar Reddy has given a letter to Vigilance Director Jacob Thomas stating that complainants Payichara Payichira Navaz and certain top officials in the Vigilance connived in filing a complaint against him in bar bribery-solar cases.

Shankar Reddy also says in the letter that Navaz has a criminal background. “All cases now in the court against him are part of the controversy within the Vigilance. When information about me is asked via RTI, wrong information are given from the Vigilance office. This is done with the sole intention to trap me. All reports given in the court against me are wrong. Again there are chances for this and hence the Vigilance director should be alert.”

Shankar Reddy says that the allegation that he had sat on the complaints regarding Solar Case, when he was the Vigilance director, is baseless. “The day after solar scam accused Saritha submitted her complaint before Solar Commission a person called P D Joseph gave a petition in the Thrissur Vigilance court and the court ordered inquiry into it after registering a case. But the next day, the accused in the complaint got a stay and that prevented the Vigilance from acting on any further complaints. All these facts were hidden in the report against me,” Reddy said.
