Controversial order on NH expansion: Cancellation order not yet received, says Sudhakaran

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Public Works department minister  Sudhakaran has said that Kerala government has not received the Centre’s order cancelling its earlier order that dropped Kerala from its priority list of states where NH expansion projects are to be carried out.
“The amendment brought out by the Centre is not at all clear. I have written to National High way Authority chairman and Union Minister Nithin Gadkari in this regard,” he said.
The government was going ahead with the land acquisition procedures in order to complete the long-pending NH 66 expansion within 2021. It was then that Kerala was removed from the priority list, that too most unexpectedly. Following this there was anxiety that the project would get stalled for two years.
