CPI for leniency in two-term condition

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPI has decided this time to relax certain conditions for becoming a candidate in the upcoming Assembly election.

The new decision is to give some leniency to persons who have contested more than two times in the Assembly election. The decision in this regard was taken in the State council meeting.

“If district units make demand in this connection, we shall consider it... The selection of candidates should be based primarily on winning chances,” the CPI secretariat clarified.
