MOOVATTUPUZHA: A doctor of a government hospital committed suicide by slitting his throat. He has been identified as P V Raju (55), a pediatrician of Moovattupuzha Government Hospital. He took the extreme step using an ordinary blade. He was found dead when his sister went to wake him up. Though he was immediately taken to the hospital, his life could not be saved.
He had tried to commit suicide earlier also. He was under treatment for depression and was under observation. He was staying with his mother Thankamma and sister Raji. His wife Savitha is a teacher in a school in Kollam. His only daughter Devika is working in the Technopark.
