Jacob Thomas hints to continue as vigilance chief

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Vigilance director Jacob Thomas has hinted to continue in the post by putting an end to the two-day long uncertainty. Thomas, who approached the government on Tuesday offering to step down, was seen in his regular style of action today.

Thomas had reached to probe a complaint against the boat club as part of renovation work in Akkulam. A hint of him continuing was obtained when he talked to the reporters after reviewing the spot in detail.  He responded saying that he will strongly go forward with the vigilance job. He said the people’s government has to take the decisions as he has informed them the problems in the vigilance. The vigilance will probe the complaints received and the government will probe the complaints they get, he said.

When asked whether he would continue in the post, though he did not give a clear reply his response hints that.  The chief minister will clear the stand on the letter given by him. The CPM and the government want him to continue and it would be informed to him. Most probably he is likely to approve it. The chief minister is likely to convene a meet of high officials.
