Chennithala takes a dig at Jacob Thomas

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Following a Veekshanam editorial, that sought the removal of Jacob Thomas as the Vigilance director, Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala has severely censured him during his address to the Assembly on Thursday.

“Freed parrot is hovering around the AKG centre…the government is trying to make Jacob Thomas a party nominee,” Chennithala ridiculed.

Chennithala made this comment while the Vigilance director’s letter came up for discussion in the Assembly.

The decision on Jacob Thomas’ letter was taken by Available Secretariat meeting.

“How can an official who has got a political support act in an unbiased manner? The government will have to clarify why he wanted to quit the post. It is not the party but the chief minister who has to take a call on the letter,” Chennithala said.

In reply to this, Minister A K Balan said the Opposition leader was making these allegations on the basis of news reports. “The party has not taken any decision and it is the government who has taken the decision,” he said in the absence of the chief minister.
