Thunderbelt alert to ‘catch’ students who cut classes

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A Thunderbelt app will come soon to ‘catch’ students who bunk classes. This will be implemented in VHSE classes. The school authorities became alert after students here were found to be frequently skipping classes.

If the students reach the school on time, their parents will get an alert message about it. The attendance register will be checked as soon as the class begins. If a student is not present, a message will be sent immediately to his or her parents via IVRS facility.

This is for the first time such a technology is being implemented in the State. Either the Principal or teacher will control the application. The details of all VHSE students have been made available in the Third Bell. All VHSE schools can use it for free. VHSE director K P Naufal informed that the application will become functional from Friday.
