Lalur garbage issue: K Venu ends hunger strike

February 24, 2012: Social activist K Venu has ended his hunger strike. He has been staging an indefinite hunger strike as a protest against the Lalur garbage issue from February 14.
He stopped his huger strike today evening at Thrissur district hospital. He has been admitted to the Thrissur district hospital on Wednesday after his health condition deteriorated.
Moving through city roads has largely become a disgusting experience these days as the city has been without a sanitation system for over three weeks now. Garbage disposal from the Thrissur Corporation areas remained halted for the last three weeks owing to protest from the residents of Lalur.
