Undertrial escapes from Palakkad sub jail

Monday, February 27, 2012: An under-trial prisoner today escaped from Palakkad sub jail. He was identified as Satyan of chittoor village near Kannimari
Satyan was lodged in the jail in a firing case, sources said.
The jail authorities came to know about the escape around 7 a.m. today and informed the police.
Police suspect the prisoner jumped over the boundary wall and got away without being detected by the security guards.
‘If negligence of jail officers is found, action will be taken against them,’ said an officer of the state’s jail department.
