Illegal liquor manufacturing unit found in Tvm; 4 held

 Friday, February 24, 2012: Officials of the Excise Department have detected an illegal liquor manufacturing unit and arrested four persons in connection with this near Kattakada here on Friday.
The accused have been identified as Vinod (39), Rajith (23) -both natives of Malayankeezhu, Sreekantan (37)-native of Perumpazhuthoor, Pradeep (23)-native of Kulathummal.
Police informed that the accused were running the illegal bottling plant at a rental house for the last three months. The police personnel seized 155 litres of spurious spirit, 150 litres of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), 45 litres of arrack and two bottling machines from there.
They also seized spirit and flavour and colouring chemicals from the house. Three vehicles used for transporting the illegal liquor were also taken into custody. The accused have been under the scanner of the Thiruvananthapuram Excise squad for the past three months.
