Stones pelted at MLA’s vehicle in Kannur

Tuesday, February 21, 2012: A group of unidentified persons pelted stones at the vehicle of K.M Shaji- Muslim Youth League leader and MLA near Bekal in Kannur on Tuesday.
According to the police the attack is the continuation of the ongoing clash between the CPM and the Indian Union Muslim League activists. The police launched grenades to disperse the offenders. No causalities have been reported in the incident.
In view of the recent clashes, police have deployed large number of forces in the sensitive areas of the district.
