Left not spreading communal feelings: VS

ALUVA: The propaganda that the Left parties are instrumental in spreading communal feelings is unjustifiable, Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan said on Tuesday. While inaugurating the 89th All Religion Conference, organised by Adwaithasramam here in connection with Sivarathri, he added that the allegation that Marxism is destroying religions is also baseless.
The annual All Religion Conference, first convened by Sree Narayana Guru in 1924, was considered to be the first such conglomeration in Asia and second in the world. Regarding the recent poster controversy triggered by the usage of Christ’s images in party posters, the Opposition Leader said that even the heads of the Christian Church did not find anything wrong in exhibiting the image of Christ.
“Sree Narayana Guru was in the forefront of the renaissance movement. The All Religion Conference conveys the message of unity in diversity,” he added. SN Dharma Sangam Trust treasurer Parananda Swamikal presided over the function while Anwar Sadath MLA was the chief guest. Dr T S Vijayan Thantrikal Karumatha, Palayam Imam Moulavi Jamaludheen Mankada, Fr K M George, Asramam Secretary Sivaswaroopananda Swamikal and Saradananda Swamikal also spoke.
