Mercury touches 40 degrees celsius in Palakkad

Palakkad, Saturday, February 25, 2012: Palakkad district had experienced high temperature with the mercury touching 40 degree Celsius at Mundoor IRTC on Friday.
This is the highest temperature recorded so far. Last year the temperature during this time was 38 degree. Now the people are unable to venture out of their houses during noon.
On Thursday the temperature was 38.5 degree. The temperature began to soar from the beginning of February itself. There are chances for sunburns too and from 11 am to 3 pm people are not going outdoors.
