Italian marines remanded to judicial custody

Monday, February 20, 2012: The two crew members of an Italian ship who allegedly shot dead two Indian fishermen off the Kerala coast were Monday sent to 14 days custody by Karunagapally First Class Judicial Magistrate Court.
The first three days woule be in police custody, ruled Magistrate PK Joy.
Latorre Massimillano and Salvatore Girone were picked up from the Italian vessel Enrica Lexie Sunday afternoon and arrested later in the night. Police officials presented the two accused in the magistrate’s house since it was a public holiday.
