Kerala Govt to provide job to widow of Valentine


February 23,2012: The Kerala cabinet on Wednesday decided to give a government job to the widow of the fisherman Valentine Jalastine, who was shot dead by naval guards of Italian cargo ship Entrica Lexie, off the Kerala coast on Wednesday, Feb 15.
Meanwhile, officials from Kerala Fisheries Ministry said that the widow will be be given a job in the state fisheries department as a class-four employee.
Earlier, the wife of one of the victims had filed a petition in the Kerala High Court seeking Rs 1 crore compensation and detention of the ship till the sum was paid.
A murder case has been registered against the two sailors namely Latorre Massimiliano and Salvatore Girone at Neendakara costal police station, Kerala.
