Palakkad Karuna MCH nurses call off strike

Wednesday, February 29, 2012: The striking nurses at the Karuna Medical college hospital in Palakkad have temporarily called off the strike till Friday after the hospital management agreed to hold a meeting to hear their demands.
The nurses had launched a strike from Wednesday morning voicing various demands including a rise in the minimum wage, removal of bonded labour and introduction of working in shifts.
The meeting which would be held between the hospital management and nurses’ association on Friday will be chaired by the Alathur DySP.
