Court nod for in-camera trial in Kashmir recruitment case
Wednesday, February 29, 2012: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) special Court here on Wednesday granted permission for the prosecution to conduct an in-camera trial in the sensational Kashmir recruitment case.
The Prosecution had requested for an in-camera trail citing the security of the witnesses in the case. This is the second case in the State probed by the NIA after the Kozhikode twin blast case.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had chargesheeted as many as 24 accused in the Kashmir recruitment case on charges of waging a war against the nation. The accused include Wali alias Abu Rehan, a Pakistani national, and T. Nazeer, Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) operative.
Five youths from the State had been sent to Jammu and Kashmir for training for jihad by the LeT. Four of them were killed in an encounter with the Indian security forces on the border.
