Chandy flags off Yatra


KASARAGOD: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy flagged- off the "Kerala Jana Raksha Yatra" led by KPCC preisdent V M Sudheeran at Kumbala in Kasargod to rejuvenate congress man and also the UDF partners. The yatra will conclude at Thiruvananthapuram on February 9. The main slogan of the yatra is to fight against communalism, fascism and political violence. The achievement of UDF government will also campaign across the state through this yatra. Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala presided over the function, and AICC general Secretary Mughal Vasnik also addressed the gathering as chief guest.

Chandy said the party welcomed the stance of RSS and CPI (M) to hold a discussion to ends political murders in Kannur. He also said if the CPI (M) is ready for a discussion with RSS to look two votes in elections, the people should punish them surely. The Chief Minister said Congress-led UDF is working always to provide peace politics in the state. He also criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi as there is no result for the improvement of diplomatic level through his world tour.

Sudheeran said the Congress workers should put aside small issues and move forward with the goal of election success and continuity in governance. Janaraksha yatra will bring in some good, useful changes in Kerala politics. It is the Congress party that takes strong stand against communalism. KPCC vice-presidents, Secretaries and leaders of Youth Congress and Mahila Congress also attended the function.
