Move to eliminate CPM, says Kodiyeri

KOCHI: The UDF and the RSS are jointly attacking the CPM leaders and activists following the win achieved by the LDF in the local body polls, said CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. Talking to reporters in Nedumbassery, he said the home department is trying to impose KAAPA on activists and are trapping them in false cases.

The case against CPM Kannur district secretary P Jayarajan is part of charging false cases against leaders. Through this, the government is under pressure from the RSS. Such anti-democratic moves would be resisted, he said.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy is using A N Rajan Babu as a middle man of the RSS, he added. Kodiyeri attacked BJP state chief Kummanam Rajashekaran by saying that he need not teach them on how the CPM should conduct their programmes. If religious groups have any misunderstanding towards the CPM, then it would be rectified and we will not waste any chance for it, he said.
