Aluva: Man attacks woman passenger in train
Saturday, February 18, 2012: One woman sustained minor injuries after a man allegedly attacked her in the ladies compartment of the Thiruvananthapuram- Chennai mail passenger train, police said.
The incident occurred at around 7.30 on Friday night, when the train had just left Aluva station. The man tried to pull the woman out of the train by holding her leg.
However, the man could not get into the train as fellow passengers rushed to her help and forcefully closed the compartment door, thereby pushing him out. The man fled from the spot before the railway police could reach the spot.
Even though the Railway authorities had assured that women police officers would be deployed on duty in the ladies compartment in night trains in the backdrop of the sensational Soumya murder case the assurance still remains unfulfilled.
