KOCHI: Kerala High Court has ordered an inquiry against Pathanamthitta Aranmula Station Sub-inspector Vinod, based on a girl’s complaint that she was beaten up at Aranmula police station in the night.
Justice Antony Dominic gave the order on Friday and asked Magistrate court to oversee the probe. Pathanamthitta SP will lead the investigation team.
Earlier, the girl’s mother had filed a habeas corpus petition, saying that her daughter went missing. Following this, the police found the girl in a search operation and took her to the Aranmula police station. It was here that she was allegedly manhandled by the police.
