KOZHIKODE: A preliminary inquiry into the alleged mobile phone usage by the TP murder case accused has revealed that the phones do not belong to the accused, the police has informed.
The accused had posted photos up to 8Mb on their Facebook pages. The IMEI and model numbers of the 8 phones recovered from the jail premises were checked by the police with the help of Cyber Cell.
Two SIMS checked did not have internet connections. The number used to connect internet is yet to be ascertained. It has been found out that Mohammed Shafi used as many 15 phone numbers one by one to make long-hour calls to his acquaintances outside the jail. Cyber cell expects to trace all the calls made from the jail after scrutinising call data and IMEI numbers.
