Nisham petitions SC for extension of trial period

NEW DELHI: Businessman Muhammed Nisham, who is the main accused in the case related to the murder of  Thrissur Shoba City security staff Chandrabose, has moved a petition in the Supreme Court, seeking to extend the trial period of the case.

“If fair trial has to happen, the trial period should be extended to three more months,” Nisham pleaded.

Earlier the Supreme Court had directed the lower court to complete the trail before January 31.

Nisham filed the petition at a time when the trial in his case started in Thrissur court today. The decision is to complete the trial in ten days and give the verdict.

It was on January 29 last year, Nisham fatally injured Chandrabose by ramming him with his posh car. The victim later succumbed to the injuries in hospital.
