THIRUVANANTHAPURAM/THRISSUR: The split in CMP is complete. On Friday, the group which favours P C John expelled leaders from K R Aravindakshan’s group and vice-versa.
C P John who met reporters after the party meeting here said they had expelled five leaders including Aravindakshan. On the other hand Aravindakshan said after a meeting in Thrissur that politburo member C A Ajeer in John’s group had been expelled.
John said the party’s general secretary is still M V Raghavan and not Aravindakshan. CMP would remain in UDF and Arvindakshan’s plan is to join LDF.
Meanwhile, Aravindakshan, who is temporarily holding the charge of party general secretary, has blamed John for trying to split the party. He said action would be initiated against John and the party would remain with the UDF.
