Second phase probe needed in TP case: Mullappally

NEW DELHI: Union Minister Mullapally Ramachandran has said that the conspiracy behind T P Chandrasekharan’s murder should be re-investigated by agencies like the CBI.

He said this second phase investigation would be necessary since certain State CPM leaders also would come within the purview of the case. “It would also clear the air as there are still doubts in people’s  mind. The late T P's wife Rema and RMP leaders have also once said that the CBI was the ideal agency to probe the case,” he said.

The minister said though there were serious allegations against P Mohanan in the FIR, he could walk free. “The doubts about his involvement persist even though I respect the court’s verdict,” he added.

The minister asked the government to reward the police officers who risked their lives to nab the culprits.
