NEW DELHI: Italy is seeking international help in the case of Italian marines who is facing trial in India, says a report. Italy is making such a move as the trial of the marines in India is being allegedly dragged on.
Italian Prime Minitser Enrico Letta has said that the issue will be brought to the notice of international community. An Italian parliamentary team will be traveling to India to assess the progress of the case.
Italy has also requested the Indian government to try the marines under ordinary Indian law.
The Supreme Court is to take up the case on Monday.
