KOZHIKODE: Prohibitory orders have been clamped in politically sensitive Vatakara and Nadapuram areas in Kozhikode for a week from Friday.
The decision to enforce the prohibitory orders in these localities has been taken by a high-level meeting of police officers convened by Additional Director General of Police (North) N Shankar Reddy.
As per the decision public meetings and demonstrations were prohibited in the region for a week.
The prohibition came in view of pronouncement of verdict in the sensational murder case of Revolutionary Marxist Party leader T P Chandrasekharan by the Special Trial Court on January 22.
