Probe ordered against Muneer

KOTTAYAM: Inquiry commissioner and special judge S Soman has decided to conduct a preliminary investigation in a case filed against Minister for Social Welfare M K Muneer and three others relating to alleged corruption in appointing the chairperson of the Kerala State Commission for Protection of Child Rights. The hearing in the case has been adjourned to February 1. According to the complaint, the person who was selected chairman did not have the prescribed qualification. The qualifications were amended through a corrigendum later. The complaint contested the veracity of the interview for the person who was selected from a four-member shortlist.
