KOCHI: "Islamic organization, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JEIH) doesn’t abide by Indian constitution and legal system," said Kerala Home department in an affidavit submitted before the high court. It also added that the organisation is under constant government vigil.
The government’s affidavit was filed in response to a petition filed by one Adul Samad, seeking a ban on JEIH.
“The home department has examined 97 books of the organisation, out of which 14 have contents that go against communal harmony. There is evidence to show that the JEIH has been involved in anti-national activities. The proof establishes the organisation’s link with Left-wing extremism. JEIH has also held anti-government demonstrations in association with certain organisations,” said the affidavit submitted by Under Secretary (Home department).
