KOCHI: An engineering student sustained serious injuries after falling from a moving train. The girl identified as Aarathy (17), a native of the capital city and a student of Kakkanad Model Engineering College, fell into a lake Thursday morning.
The incident happened when she was proceeding to Ernakulam in Nagercoil-Mangalore Ernad Express. The girl has been admitted to a private hospital. It is suspected that the girl may have fallen into the lake when the train reached Kumbalam Bridge. When the passengers of the general compartment saw the girl lying in the lake, they pulled the chain and informed the fishermen. Her address was obtained from the identity card.
