THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A one-time tax has been enforced for all motor vehicles, said Finance Minister K M Mani. A rise of 7 to 33% has been brought in the tax. An additional income of 3400 crores will be obtained with the increase, he said.
One time tax for five years on motor cab will be Rs 900. Rs 6400 for 750 cc cars, Rs 8600 for 750-1500 cc cars and 10,600 for cars above 1500 cc.
After considering vehicles above 1500 cc as luxury vehicles, the tax has been increased. This will lead to an increase in price of vehicles and the government is expecting Rs 100 crores annually.
