Lottery seller 'bludgeoned' to death


KOCHI: A lottery seller who was sleeping on a shop veranda was found dead on Saturday with severe head injuries. The body was found at the shop near Kalur Azad road.

Red bricks and tender coconut were found lying strewn near the body, leading the police to suspect that it was a case of murder.
   
The local people said the deceased was in the habit of sleeping on shop veranda. The killed person has been identified as one Praman, 72. According to the local people, his eyesight was poor and his residence was at Vyloppilli lane. After division of his property he, who was unmarried, shifted his stay to the shop veranda. North police have filed a case in this connection.
