NEDUMBASSERY: Amid tight security arrangements during the Republic Day on Sunday, a bullet was found inside an Air India plane that arrived here from Delhi in the evening.
The investigating officers have said that the probe will be extended to New Delhi. The workers who offloaded goods from planes spotted the bullet inside the storage cabin. The finding of the bullet on the Republic Day is seen as a breach of security as tight security was in place during the day.
A team led by Nedumbassery CI Murali has started the investigation. Bureau of Civil Aviation Securities will also conduct a special inquiry. The incident has brought to light the vulnerability of security arrangements provided by different security agencies across the nation.
