Vice-chancellor appears before Governor

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: M G varsity vice-chancellor Dr A V George, who is facing allegation that he tampered with his bio-data to earn the job, on Saturday, appeared before the Governor to give his statements.

The Governor, who is also the varsity chancellor, called him after the government sent the former a report stating that “George does not possess the required qualification to become a vice-chancellor”.

In the bi-data submitted for the VC’s post, George had mentioned that he had worked as department head in the Kasargode central university. But actually he had gone there on a two-months’ deputation from Iringalakkuda Christ college, where he was working. The government had also reported that George did not have the required work experience as department head.
