False wedding news about minister: Main accused traced

THIRUVANANTHAPURM: The Cyber police have traced the main accused in a case related to spreading of false news about Kerala Youth Welfare Minister P K Jayalakshmi’s marriage.

The investigation is progressing with focus on Sakalathum.com online newspaper representative Ratheesh Narayanan. He is absconding. Police said since Ratheesh had approached the high court for anticipatory bail, the arrest was being delayed.

It was about two weeks ago that Sakalathum.com published the news that Jayalakshmi was going to marry a Secretariat staff. After that a number of online journals carried the same news. Subsequently, the minister lodged a complaint with DGP, stating that she had been defamed by the false news.
