THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The lump sum tax imposed on autos has been withdrawn, informed Finance Minister K M Mani in the assembly. He took the decision after there were wide spread protests on the hike. Mani announced the decision while replying to the demand for grants in the assembly.
The amount for the debt relief of fishermen has been raised to 10 crores from one crore. The government will strongly intervene to prevent the fall in the price of rubber. An amount of Rs 10 crores has been granted for the procurement of rubber.
The honorarium for Anganwadi and Asha workers has been raised to Rs 2000 and 1000 respectively.
Special schools with 100 students will be made aided schools. All welfare pensions have been increased by Rs 100.
