Central leadership backs resolution passed against VS

NEW DELHI: The CPM central leadership has come to support Kerala CPM unit’s   passing of resolution against Opposition leader V S Achthanandan for his public comments on T P Chandrasekharan murder case and NaMo Vichar Manch issue, overstepping the party’s prerogative.

The central leadership has clarified that there is nothing unusual in passing the resolution. The central leaders also said that what the Kerala unit of the party had done was quite right as the authority to take action came under its purview.

CPM State committee had earlier said that Achuthanadan’s such statements were inappropriate. The resolution also concluded that “the party cannot accept the statements made by VS and he should not unilaterally resort to such practices again.”
