Fb usage in jail: Police told to move Magistrate court

KOZHIKODE: The special court at Eranjippalam, trying the T P Chandrasekharan case, has asked the police to approach Magistrate court to get arrest warrants against the TP case accused who used Facebook inside the jail. The court made it clear that the authority to issue arrest warrant vested in the Magistrate court.

Kasab Circle Inspector N Biswas had moved the trial court, making a plea to issue arrest order against second accused Kirmani Manoj, third accused Kodi Suni, fourth accused T K Rajeesh, fifth accused K K Muhammed Shafi, and seventh accused K Shinoj.

The police submitted in the court that they had sufficient evidence to arrest the accused. Eight cell phones, two SIM cards, three memory cards, phone call list, CCTV footages, jail official’s statements and channel reports were presented as evidence before the court.
