TODUPUZHA: JSS President Gouri Amma on Saturday rectified her earlier statement that she was invited by the LDF to be the chief minister during the 2006 Assembly election. She said she was invited only to return to the CPM and not to be the chief minister.
“I had told CPM leaders then that I would give a reply after consulting with my party. The earlier statements I made a few days ago in this regard were misquoted by the media,” said Gauri Amma, who was here to inaugurate Idukki conference of the JSS.
She said what was mostly discussed within the JSS currently was whether to leave the UDF or not. “Even if we leave the UDF, we shall exist independently. As of now we have no plans of going back to the CPM,” said the JSS leader, adding that her party had been getting only neglect from the UDF.
