Thiruvairanikkulam Devi temple to close on Tuesday

THIRUVAIRANIKKULAM: Ending this year’s festive season at the famous Thiruvairanikkulam Siva-Parvathy temple at Aluva, the sanctum sanctorum of the Parvathy temple here will close on Monday for the year.  Important personalities and films stars like Dileep, Swastika and Priyanka visited the temple for darshan on Monday.

The Parvathy temple which will close at 8 night on Tuesday will open again only next year around this time. With a day left for the closing of the Devi temple, the temple witnessed a heavy rush today.

Most of the devotees who come in batches for pilgrimage to this temple usually link their trip to other temples at Anandavalleeswaram, Mannarassala, Chakkulam, Ambalappuzha,Cherthala, Thuravur, Chottanikkara, Guruvayur, Mammiyoor, Kadampuzha, Thirumandamkunnu, Vadakkumnathan, Paramekkavu and Thiruvambadi. So heavy rush is scene in most of the above temples during this period of the year.

Last week during a festive day at Chakkulam, the motorists and devotees had a harrowing time as they got held up in heavy traffic block for hours. With no sufficient policemen to control the traffic the pilgrims themselves had to get off their buses and 'don' the role of traffic cops.
