THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala has said the BJP’s aim to belittle Sree Narayana Guru as a Hindu sanyasi is part of its agenda for fostering communalism. “The basis of Guru’s teachings is spirituality above religions. BJP’s attempt to bring Guru as a Hindu Sanyasi to the den of Sangh Parivar is ridiculous,” he wrote on his Facebook page on Friday.
“BJP is showing here also its prevented mentality as in the case of naming Thiruvonam as Vamana Jayanthi. Kerala society will not tolerate the party’s attempt to make Guru, who believed that the essence of all religions is one, solely their guru, for political mileage,” Chennithala added.
