Tax scam: Mani says Vigilance director settled scores with him

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Congress M Chairman K M Mani has said an FIR was registered against him in the poultry company case by the Vigilance Director as part of personal vendetta against him.  

“This is equivalent to making me accused. I had only protected the interest of the government. Jacob Thomas is consistently haunting me but the truth will win finally,” Mani was responding to questions on the FIR against him in the case in which he allegedly went out of his way to give tax concession to poultry company.

Currently, K M Mani is also facing further probe in the bar bribery case .

The other FIR is related to his alleged decision to allow tax concession to the tune of Rs 64 crore to a Thrissur poultry Import Company. The FIR also mentions the irregularity in allowing tax concessions to Ayurveda cosmetic companies. .

The other day, the Vigilance had reached Mani’s daughter’s house to record his statements and after that they field an FIR at Moovattupuzha Vigilance Court.
