Govt non-committed to people, says Pinarayi

KOCHI: The people of the state is led by a government not committed to them, said CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan. Talking to reporters after inaugurating the CPM’s indefinite hunger strike against price rise of essential commodities including LPG, he said the people of the state are fed up of the price rise.

The strike is staged against the price rise affecting the common man badly. This hunger strike is sure to touch the government, he said.

The price of LPG, diesel and petrol are hiked at times so that no decrease is seen in the profit received by corporates. The price is controlled by these corporates, he said.

The strike is being staged in ten centres each in 140 assembly constituencies. CPM leader Kodiyeri Balakrishnan inaugurated the hunger strike staged in the capital city.
