MUSCAT: P Mohammed Ali, a Keralite and a noted industrialist, accused of offering bribe to get a deal, resigned from the managing director post of Galfar and also from its board of directors.
The Galfar director board’s meeting said the decision was taken to protect the interest of investors. Mohamed Ali is the second accused in the case.
Ali and Oman Petroleum Development tender chief Juma Al Hinayi, first accused in the case were handed jail terms of three years and ordered to pay fines worth 600,000 riyals by an Omani court.
Manager Noushad, a Keralite was awarded two year jail terms and fine of 200,000 riyals.
