KOCHI: Kerala High Court on Thursday expressed its own doubt over the “association” between the State government and mafias. “We suspect that there exist “immoral relationships” among ministers, mafias and goons,” the court stated.
The court made this observation while considering Kadakampally land cheating case involving Chief Minister’s gunman Salim Raj. The court also questioned why solar case accused Saritha S Nair took a detour via Puthapally while going to a court in Ernakulam. It asked the government counsel why Saritha was being given additional comforts. “How was she able to use cosmetic items in the jail? Do jails have beauticians?” the court asked.
Asking how Saritha got costly Saris in jail, the court gave instruction to give her ordinary Saris. “If this is the situation nobody will fear to go to jail. People are watching all this. Remember that,” the court told the government advocate.
