Vava Suresh unites separated King cobra pair

KULATHUPPUZHA: Finally Vava Suresh reached Kulathuppuzha on Wednesday to play his part in the reunification of two King Cobras, which had to separate recently.

Both had sauntered into a human habitat here on the recent hartal day.  They were spotted on the front yard of Shobhana Kumari’s house. Vava Suresh was called in and he could catch hold of only one among the pair. It was 18 feet long female snake. At that time, though he had searched for its pair, it could not be found.

On Tuesday, the locals decided to called in Vava suresh to catch the male snake, which had been staying on a tree near Kalladayar for the past two days . Though the Forest officials had denied permission to catch the snake, Vava was called in by Wednesday after locals rasied alarm. Suresh with the help of locals caught the male snake. He later released the snake at the place in the forest where its female partner was released earlier.

Suresh said the 11-feet-long snake weighing 80 kg is five year old. The snake was released at Anjana Koppam in the Shanki forest area.
