Oppn, an insult to Kerala and assembly, says Chandy

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The opposition LDF is an insult to the whole state and the Kerala Assembly, said Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. The budget meet has to be suspended in between due to the non-cooperation of the opposition. The chief minister attacked the opposition for their agitations against them. A discussion on the budget was a good chance to criticize the government.  I am really pained to end the session without holding it, Chandy said at the press meet.

The government is not scared of criticisms as it will help to move forward after correcting it. However, the demands raised by the opposition were ones which cannot be accepted at all. They first were against the finance minister presenting the budget. After it was presented, they disrupted the assembly proceedings by leveling baseless allegations that women MLAs were insulted. The opposition came forward with the allegations in order to defend the unruly scenes witnessed in the assembly.

The chief minister said that he wants the opposition to see the incidents that happened in the assembly. We can together find the guilty and then action will be taken against them. The watch and ward were not appointed first as there were reports that some untoward incidents would be witnessed in the assembly. They were called after the speaker’s podium was destroyed.

None from the ruling front were seen in the area of the opposition or into the speaker’s dais.
