Assembly violence case handed over to crime branch

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government Tuesday handed over the case in connection with the violence and destruction of property on the Speaker’s podium in the Kerala Assembly on the day the budget was presented, to the crime branch.  The order for it was released last evening. A team led by cantonment assistant commissioner Suresh Kumar was investigating the case registered by the Museum Police.  

The FIR was registered based on speaker’s complaint which did not have any MLAs name. Following the complaint, the team recorded the statements of assembly secretary, employees and the watch and ward. All these reports will be soon handed over to the crime branch.The speaker had suspended E P Jayarajn, V Sivankutty, K T Jaleel, Kunhammed Master and K Ajith in connection with the violence.
