Verdict in hand chopping case on April 6

KOCHI: The Ernakulam NIA Court will pronounce the verdict in the case in connection with the palm chopping of Prof T J Joseph of Thodupuzha Newman College, alleging blasphemy in preparing question papers, on April 6th.

There are 36 accused in the case. The charge sheet was filed in the NIA court in Kochi earlier.

M K Nazar (42), K E Kasim (43), Shafeeq (25), K A Najeeb (36), P M Manaf (37), Aziz (30), T H Anwar Saddiq, Niyaz (32) and Riyaz (31) are the nine accused named in the list of NIA.

They have been charged for murder and other offences like causing disappearance of evidence, intentional omission to give information of offence, harbouring offender, unlawful assembly, rioting armed with deadly weapon, criminal conspiracy and causing hurt.
